The collection of plates offered by Wülfing in Der Leuchter demonstrate her devotion to

capturing the very essence of Being - in line, contrasting colour and shading. In his

introduction to Der Leuchter, Otto Schulze - Wülfing's husband (also Professor at the Art

College in Wuppertal) - notes her particular success in details including the clarity of the

night sky, the delicate lines created by the fall of costumes and bejeweled thrones and

garments.

 

Schulze's praise is well-placed - Wülfing's images of Angels, Crystal Children, phases of

Human Development and dreams are delightful.

On the left, we show a rare copy of Der Leuchter including the illustrations of Sulamith Wülfing published by Sulamith Wülfing - Verlag (Wuppertal-Elberfeld)

in 1936.

We have prepared sets of 10 Greeting Cards displaying each of Wülfing's colour images for Der Leuchter and on the left, we show an example of how these Greeting Cards appear.

When presented on Greeting Cards, these images are prepared as tipped-on plates - in

hommage to the hand-crafted approach typical of prestige illustrated publications

produced in the early decades of the 20th Century. Each card is hand-finished and the

images are presented on Ivory card stock with an accompanying envelope. The rear

of each card carries information about Sulamith Wülfing, this wonderful suite and the

profiled illustration - we have left the interior of the cards blank so that you may

write your own personal message.

archival quality papers and inks - and also accompanied by information about

Sulamith Wülfing, this suite and the profiled illustration.
